Italy Garlic Bread

Garlic Bread with Herbs and Parmesan

There's no better in the food world than crunchy toasted bread sopping with garlicky melted butter, chopped herbs, and cheese (at least in my opinion!). Exchange the parsley in this recipe with chopped cilantro and you'll move you dish from Italy to South Africa.

Equipment

  • Bowl

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf Ciabatta bread or a large baguette
  • ½ cup Butter, softened to room temperature
  • 3 tbsp Parsley or cilantro leaves, chopped
  • 4 cloves Garlic, chopped
  • 3 tbsp Grated parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (205°C). Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Slice bread loaf into thick slices. Do not slice all the way through, though.
Spread the butter mix equally between cut slices. Sprinkle a little additional parmesan cheese over the top. Wrap loaf in foil and bake for 20 minutes. Open the foil to brown the loaf, about 5 minutes more.
