Turkish carrot rice pilaf, also known as Havuçlu Pilav, is a vibrant and flavorful side dish that’s both simple to make and bursting with flavor. It’s a fantastic way to introduce more vegetables into your diet and add a pop of color to your table.
The star ingredient, carrots, adds a natural sweetness that’s beautifully balanced by the savory notes of onion, garlic, and spices. The result is a flavor profile that’s both comforting and exciting. Turkish rice pilaf is known for its light and fluffy texture, achieved by using the “pilaf method” of cooking. This involves sautéing the rice in oil or butter before adding broth or water, resulting in separate, fluffy grains.
