Alabama White BBQ Sauce

This interesting mayonnaise-based BBQ sauce mates especially well with grilled or smoked chicken. Baste it on in the final minutes of cooking and serve extra in a bowl at the table.

Equipment

  • Pint Mason jar with lid
  • Large bowl
  • Whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Mayonnaise
  • cup Cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup Lemon juice
  • ¼ cup Apple juice
  • 1 tbsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (or prepared horseradish)
  • 1 tbsp Coarsely ground pepper
  • ½ tsp Salt
  • ½ tsp Cayenne pepper

Instructions

  • Put all the ingredients in a large bowl and whisk to thoroughly combine. Transfer to a jar with a screw-on lid and refrigerate a few hours for the flavors to meld. Will keep in the fridge for several weeks.
