This Canadian go-to sauce is great for marinating meat in before grilling or baking, especially chicken wings. Brush over ribs during cooking, or use as a dipping sauce for vegetables.
Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
Once sauce comes to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes. Serve or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up-to a few weeks.
Notes
For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of cayenne or red pepper flakes.
For a thicker sauce, add a little more cornstarch at beginning of cooking.
For a smoother sauce, strain the sauce right after cooking.
